A: The U.S Department of Labor (DOL) has issued guidance on the paid leave requirements under FFCRA in addition to clarifying the effective date of the law is April 1, 2020.
The guidance addresses issues such as:
- Which employers and employees are covered
- How much leave employers are required to grant employees and for what pay
- How paid Family Medical Leave and paid sick leave interact for child care purposes
- Exemptions from the law
- What tax credits are available to employers to pay for the leave
